I am researching the history of my Gt-Grandfather Edward Spencer Rilatt.
Edward was born in 1862 in Millwall London, he was by trade a fisherman, however at the time of the 1891 census he stated he was a labourer.
Edward is the son of Edward Spencer Rilatt and Mary Ann Jane Harding. Edwards parents had many children, their story starts in Lincoln where Edward senior was born to John Rylatt and Rebecca Sharp, Edward senior and Mary travelled about and their offspring have been found in Lincoln, Hull and Middlesex.
Edward junior married Ellen Parker born 1864 on 4th November, 1884 in the parish church of St. Paul's at Sculcoates, Hull. They had 8 children before Edward died. He had an accident on board the fishing smack Fame, his death was recorded as 18th December 1900 in Ramsgate and is buried in Western Cemetary, Hull.
Ellen remarried in 1902 and became Ellen Bell.
