My Gt-Gt-Grandfather was William Stovin born 1818 in Hull to John & Ann Stovin, he married Mary Ann Lamb (1818-1895), one of their Grandchildren was John William Stovin, my grandfather, (21/5/1881-5/7/1951) he married Matilda Atkinson (nee Sowden 21/3/1891-5/1/1937) on 13th September, 1919 at St. Wilfreds Church, Hull.
After serving in the Navy in the Great War, John spent most of his working life at sea, he and his family lived in on Coltman Street, Hessle Road, Hull where there was a large community of fishing families.
